Ecolodge Chalalan 4 days - 3 nights

DURATION: 4DAYS/3NIGHTS

The Chalalán Ecolodge was built by the community of San José de Uchupiamonas, belonging to the Quechua Indigenous Culture Tacana, its purpose is ecologically sustainable use of natural resources Madidi National Park to contribute to the social, economic and cultural Community.
The lodge is built in the traditional style Tacana with palm bark and leaves jatata and is located in the heart of the park on the banks of the lagoon Chalalan.

ITINERARY:

Day 0: La Paz - Rurrenabaque
Rurrenabaque Airport Reception by one of our guides and transfer to Chalalán office, informing you about the trip the next day to the lodge, then it will show your guest where night stay overnight.


Day 1: Rurrenabaque - Chalalán Ecolodge
In the morning the guide stop by his hotel to collect and transfer to the harbor and take the boat to outboard bound to the Ecolodge. The boat trip takes about 5 ½ hours sailing the rivers Beni and Tuichi, the trip is an opportunity to enjoy and appreciate beautiful scenery as the barrel of Bala (Bala George), landscapes of the rainforest, with the possibility of observing some animals and birds during the journey to reach the river Tuíchi. (A journey through the tour we serve a box lunch or snack). From the main port began a 25 minute walk along the path until you reach the lake Jaguar Chalalán where is located the Ecolodge. Welcome reception, and accommodation in their rooms. Welcome lunch.
In the afternoon, after lunch we will have a short walk from one of our theme paths local guide will make the interpretation of the tropical rainforest and its traditional use. Return by canoe to see some species of monkeys and birds. Dinner.
After dinner will begin a short hike to observe nocturnal life of animals, especially variety of insects.


Day 2: Chalalán Ecolodge - Madidi National Park.
Breakfast at the Ecolodge. After breakfast we will have a guided hike of 3-4 hours by Tapacare or similar path, where your local guide will make the interpretation of the rainforest and ecological processes. Return to the Ecolodge. Lunch.
In the afternoon, after a short break (nap), will visit the viewpoint from where you can see the beautiful scenery of Lake Chalalán and extensive primary rainforest Madidi National Park. Talk about the history of the community, the project Chalalán and Madidi park creation.
Dinner in the Ecolodge.
At night, canoeing or night walk to observe nocturnal animals and birds.

Day 3: Chalalán Ecolodge - Madidi National Park
Breakfast at the Ecolodge. After breakfast, we trek to the river Link, this time a long walk all day (6 hours approx.) To delve into the depths of the virgin forest and have the opportunity to see animals such as spider monkeys, tapir, deer, wild pigs and also learn more about the interpretation of the tropical rainforest and ecological processes. Refreshments in the Link River.
After a little rest and observation of landscapes, return to the Ecolodge along the same path. Arrival at Ecolodge, Snack arrival. After a break we can enjoy the lake taking a bath and doing swimming. Dinner: Dinner will be traditional food from the buffet area.
Canoe trip, special activity to observe the impressive brightness of the eyes of alligators and other animals.
Traditional Night (Quechua - Tacana) where our local guides will explain about the customs, habits and rituals of indigenous Uchupiamonas activity in which you can also enjoy a local drink, enjoy local music and dance with people our community San José de Uchupiamonas.


Day 4: Chalalán Ecolodge – Rurrenabaque
Breakfast at the Ecolodge. Very early we will have a short walk along one of our trails where you will have your last chance to see some animals and birds. Return to the lodge. Lunch.
After lunch, walk to the port Tuíchi to take the motor boat back to Rurrenabaque. During the trip is recommended to always be careful to observe some animals along the way. The return trip takes only three hours.
Arrive at Rurrenabaque airport transfers for passengers who have flight back to La Paz.

Tour includes: Air ticket La Paz La Paz Rurrenabaque (optional by bus), 3 nights accommodation, all meals on the tour, transfer in out in Rurrenabaque, native guide in English.
Tour does not include: Entrance fee to Madidi Park (150.- Bs.), airport taxes, food the first day.

Note: The times indicated in the programs can be modified at the suggestion of passengers, weather conditions, changes in flight schedules or other reasons.

We also have programs for 3 days, 2 nights, 5 days / 4 nights 6 days / 5 nights with a visit to the community of San José de Uchupiamonas.
